The Kommagene Biennial, with the Main Sponsorship of SANKO Holding, Opens Its Doors with the Theme “Healing”

The Kommagene Biennial, which has become one of Türkiye’s most important contemporary art events with its wide coverage and outdoor installations, opened its doors with the coordination of the LAM Association, the hosting of the Adıyaman Governorship, and the sponsorship of SANKO Holding. This year’s theme of the biennial, determined after the devastating earthquake that deeply affected the region, is “Healing” This year, under the curatorship of Prof. Eros Istvan from Hungary, 53 artists from 20 different countries are participating in the biennial. These artists will exhibit works that explore the power of healing and the role of art in this process from various perspectives, following a challenging period that shook the region. The 2nd Kommagene Biennial, which combines the historical and cultural richness of Adıyaman with art, features exhibition spaces set in locations intertwined with both nature and archaeology, including Mount Nemrut, Kahta Castle, Cendere Bridge, Karakuş Tumulus, Belören Village, and the ancient city of Perre. The biennial, which was inaugurated at the Summit of Mount Nemrut, started with a hopeful and healing beginning, accompanied by the first light of the sun, with the participation of writers from different countries. On the same day, the NEG-UUDEL Performance Art Group from Mongolia gave the audience a unique performance at the summit. The Kommagene Biennial offers a program full of works that highlight the healing power of art and culture. SANKO Holding, which has its production facilities in Adıyaman, invites all art lovers to share this unique experience in support of the biennial, commemorating the company’s 120th anniversary.
